The initial assembly of the curtainwall units began in May 2015. With the partnership of WRTP/BIG STEP and the local Glaziers, we vowed to employ all City of Milwaukee residents for this project. At peak production, there were 73 employees, all of whom were previously underemployed men and women who had no prior experience. Over the course of a year and a half, these individuals assembled 2,600 frames under the guidance of Benson Industries. As the units were completed, they were shipped to the job site. Duwe’s composite crew of Ironworkers, Ironworker Apprentices and Glaziers, wrapped the outside of the tower, one unit at a time.
